Article: Audrey Asciutto Has My Vote

The primary election is fast approaching! I hope every voter will study the candidates and make the best possible choices. Election day is Tuesday, August 28th.

I have not been happy with our current state representative of Florida House District 55. It is time for us to have a new voice in Tallahassee. That's why I have already cast my vote by mail for Democrat Audrey Asciutto.

I have known Audrey since the time she was a Daisy Girl Scout with my daughter when they were in kindergarten. In Daisy Scouts the girls learned to help others through service projects. They practiced leadership and citizenship skills. Audrey has shown that these lessons stuck with her.

Audrey is a local Realtor who has worked hard and done well in her position. She also brought solar power to Highlands County as the initiating force of the Solar United Neighbors of Highlands County co-op. This allows homeowners to drastically lower their power bills and even sell power to the electric company.

Audrey has been very active in politics. She is the vice president of the Democratic Women's Club of Highlands County.

We really need a representative who will take an active interest in the school districts in House District 55. Audrey grew up in the Heartland and has three children in our public schools. She will listen to parents and teachers and not corporations who want to profit from our taxpayer funded schools.

Audrey is not supported by big sugar, Koch brothers or utility companies. What she has is grassroots support. She listens to local community members. This is the change we need in our legislature.
